The largest thing we have built out of cloth: two bedrooms under four-poster beds, a loft reached by a ladder, a lounge, a dining hall, and a bar. All of it under one canvas roof, all of it on teak floors. Guests keep calling it a lodge. We called it the mansion first.
The dining table is a single live-edge slab that seats eight, and it is where everything ends up happening — cards, chess, laptops nobody opens. The bar is stocked on request and unstocked otherwise; we do not keep an honesty fridge.
There is no kitchen in the mansion — food comes up from the café kitchen and is laid out on the slab. Order by six and it arrives hot. Most groups eat here rather than walking down, because nobody wants to leave the room.
The sectional in the lounge takes all six of you. The loft above the second bedroom sleeps two more on a mattress and is fought over by whoever is youngest. Speakers cut off at 10:30 by rule — acoustic after, and the canvas is kinder to sound than a wall is.
The mansion faces east on purpose. Breakfast is laid on the same slab from 8. The lake is a twelve-minute walk; the waterfall is a kayak and a short argument away.
A hundred and eighty square metres under canvas, on teak. Two bedrooms with four-poster beds and their own stone bathrooms, a loft over the second room, a lounge that seats all of you at once, a dining slab for eight, and a bar. Built for six people who want a whole house without a whole house's worth of walls.
The mansion goes as one — we do not let the two bedrooms separately, because the lounge and the table are the reason to be here. Rates are per night for up to six, breakfast included. We take 40% to hold the booking, rest on arrival.
